The Blue Ridge Parkway is just minutes away and is the perfect way to spend the day hiking, fishing, or just relaxing at an overlook and watching the world go by! Along the Blue Ridge Parkway you can explore the historic Moses Cone Manor, have a picnic lunch by the stream at Price Park, rent a boat for fishing in Price Lake, take a hike underneath the Linn Cove Viaduct, which is an amazing triumph of engineering, or just enjoy a leisurely drive while the road gently curves and rolls as it sweeps toward the sky. A short drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway can take you to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns and Linville Falls. As you explore the High Country of North Carolina you will experience some jaw-dropping views and may even discover some of our infamous mountain history and lore! No matter your age, everyone will enjoy a trip to Tweetsie Railroad, a coal fired narrow gauge locomotive faithfully serving many generations of explorers since 1957. Tweetsie has plenty to offer the whole family! There are plenty of high flying rides, a deer park zoo, delicious fudge and funnel cakes and music and dance performances to delight all. Our little slice of heaven in Blowing Rock boasts the best of the four seasons: cool summers, stunning fall colors, an abundance of snow to welcome the hardiest skiers and snowboarding enthusiasts, and the “melt-down” games to welcome the return of spring.
